Córdoba

TUESDAY 04/13/10

Pato’s sister, Sivlina, and I took a little day trip to Córdoba to check out the Manzana Jesuítica (Jesuit Block) and the university.

It was a quaint city with quite a lot of character.  We did a bit of shopping and wandering around, had lunch in a building that used to be a women’s prison and had recently been transformed into a cultural center, El Buen Pastor.

It started to downpour, and we were stuck in it, so we did some more shopping to dry off, but it really was chilling to the bones.  On the bus ride back, we both agreed that we needed something warm to drink and a nice dessert…and that’s exactly what we had at the restaurant.

(Such a great group of friends!!)

We hung out there for a bit, and then I went back to the cabin to get packed up and wait for Pato to bring me to the bus station.

The time outside of Buenos Aires was exactly what I had needed – to see good friends, enjoy a small community feel, and breathe the fresh air.  It was a bit melancholy leaving, as I had started to get used to the slow pace of life, but I knew my home was in BA and there was a bit for me to do before heading back to the U.S. the following week.
