CLARO! OBVIO!

An interesting linguistic observation that I’ve made is that porteños frequently respond with “Claro!” (Clearly!) and “Obvio!” (Obviously!).  This, coming from a culture of “maybes” and “perhapses,” is quite entertaining.  I mentioned it to John and we started to become even more aware of the frequency at which they’re used.  One really can’t walk down the street without hearing a few remarks of “Claro!” and exclamations of “Obvio!”
