Butoh

Flor practices Butoh dance here in Buenos Aires, and I had my first exposure at her instructor’s student show.  It’s a form that originated in Japan as a rejection of contemporary dance and to represent some of the taboo topics.  It’s a very unique art form, and we were all taken out of our comfort zones.

(Disclaimer: Nobody is actually mentally retarded – this is one of the representations of taboo issues.)

We headed to Flor's friend, Cecilia's house with many other international folk following the show.
