La Rumba Catalana en Buenos Aires

My good friends, Meri and Flor, who work for the Delegación de Catalunya, put on a wonderful weekend of Rumba Catalana, with musicians flown in from Catalunya.

Inauguración
The inauguration was held at the Casa de la Cultura with a short introduction of the three visiting bands from Catalunya and the late Gato Peréz, the porteño-born, Catalán-raised musician who helped to establish the movement of rumba catalána.

Unfortunately, due to weather conditions and technical difficulties out of anyone’s control, a few events were suspended, but finally the bands played at the Costanera Sur.

After all the cancellations and rescheduling, the bands put on one more unscheduled show at the Casal de Catalunya.
